How do we write a good abstract? Emerald, the academic journal database (www.emeraldinsight.com), offers a set of guidelines for authors on how to write a good abstract. The guidelines advise that an abstract should summarize these key elements of the research paper or study. Purpose What are the reason(s) for writing the paper or the aims of the research? What concept do you want to present? Design/methodology/approach How were the objectives achieved? Include the main method(s) used for the research. What is the approach to the topic and what are the theoretical or key arguments of your presentation? Findings/Results/Observations What was found in the course of the work? This will refer to analysis, discussion, or results. Research implications (if applicable) What are the contributions to research?
